Propane Conversion Kits

The AltFuel Green Conversion Kit easily retrofits small gasoline engines to run on clean, efficient propane. Propane is a domestic fuel contained in a sealed, pressure-tight system at all times, therefore there are no evaporative emissions or spillage as with gasoline which eliminates a significant source of secondary pollution. Propane is a clean alternative fuel to gasoline, widely approved in the 1990 Clean Air Act and the Energy Policy Act of 2005 as well as federally approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a clean-burning fuel.

Our conversion kit fuels the engine with propane fuel from a commonly available 1 pound propane cylinder. A single 1 pound cylinder last 1-1/2 to 2 hours depending on the size of the engine.

Propane fueled engines run cleaner without sacrificing performance due to the fact that propane has a higher octane rating than gasoline. Time and time again propane powered mowers have proven to run stronger and longer than gasoline mowers. Propane delivers approximately 30-40 percent savings on fuel costs over gasoline while reducing hydrocarbon emissions by nearly 75 percent.

The AltFuel Propane Conversion kit easily installs on most conventional signal piston gasoline engines used on lawn mowers, riding lawn mowers, weed wackers, snow blowers, go-karts, etc. On most engines the installation is a simple as replacing the fuel line going into the carburetor with the propane supply line and mounting the kit to the mower, weed whacker, go-kart, etc.
